Aquarium Day

We finally made it to the Camden, NJ Aquarium. Reagan fell asleep as soon as we got in the car and Nathan snacked on some of Mommy's BBQ potato chips until he finally fell asleep with a potato chip still in his hand. Once we arrived Reagan was awake but Nate was still sleeping even after we transferred him into the stroller.

The kids pointed at the fish and smiled a lot. We got to see all kinds of fish and sharks. They even had two hippos. There was an outside area with seals and African penguins, but we didn't stay out too long because it was just so hot. All and all I think the kids had a nice time and it was something different for them. Mom and Dad were just glad to get out of the house.
Mom took this picture of Daddy and his little man because they were wearing similar clothing again today and I just think it is adorable to see them dressed alike.

Outdoor Fun with Bubbles

Here are jsut a few recent pictures of the kids. They were looking out the window at the rain and I thought it would make a cute picture.

Today we played out in the back yard for a little while. Reagan stayed right next to Mommy and Daddy the whole time while Nathan just ran and ran. Here is a quick clip of Nathan trying to get away from us.

A visit from Grandpa and Gram

Grandpa and Gram came down today for a quick visit with us. Grandpa was able to fix our mini van enough so that he could drive it back to his house for some additional repair work.

They brought lots of new toys for Nathan and Reagan on this visit including and adorable little piano which Reagan just loves. She kept pushing Nathan away so she could have it all to herself.

We all got to sit down and eat some steaks from the grill and some corn on the cob. It was a really nice visit and we are so glad that Gram and Grandpa made it down to see us.

Blocks

I just wanted to share this picture of Reagan and her Block tower. Mommy got these GIANT Lego type blocks from the same lady that we bought the Cozy Coupe Car from. Reagan just loves stacking them in towers and she made this one all by herself. Mommy had to help lift her up so she could put the final two blocks on top but otherwise she builds these towers all on her own.
You may also notice the fashionable blue rings on Reagan's feet. These have become a part of her normal everyday wardrobe. As soon as she comes downstairs in the morning she finds them and puts them on. Reagan will walk around all day with these rings on her ankles until Mommy takes them off right before nap time. Of course as soon as she wakes up they are back on. Her feet will soon be outgrowing these rings so I imagine that within a month or two we will have to put the rings away so that they don't get permanently stuck there!

Mommy took the kiddos to Walmart today to get some groceries. They behaved pretty well but Mommy did end up giving in after awhile and digging in her purse to find some normally "Off-Limit" items to keep them occupied and quiet.

Mommy's belly is growing and really starting to show now. We had an OB and Ultrasound appointment today at 23 weeks. They were able to tell us that the baby weighs about 1lb and 1oz. She was in the breech position today but she still has plenty of time to turn around. Our doctor actually has a special 3-Dimensional imaging for Ultrasounds where you can actually see what looks like a real black and white photo of the baby and make out her face and maybe even who she looks like. Unfortunately our baby girl had her hands in front of her face for most of the ultrasound so we were not able to get the 3D photos like we were hoping, but we have another Ultrasound in a month so maybe we will get to see her face in that one.

Daddy took a funny clip today of the kids running around the kitchen. Technically Nathan was doing most of the running and Reagan was doing most of the chasing.

We ate lunch at the kitchen table again. Nathan is still having a tough time with the transition since he can see the floor so much better from his booster seat and it must be lots of fun to watch where his food lands when he throws it. He also tends to chew on the table when he is bored with eating so we really have to keep an eye on him.

Another Day....

The video above shows Reagan doing some more dress up, now she is using the plastic stacking rings for bracelets and anklets. So there are some days where I look at her and she will have a hat on her head, rings on her arms and plastic cups on her feet. I think Mommy's closet may be in big trouble when she gets a little older.

We have been practicing going down the steps or "Boop, Booping" on our butts. Reagan is so good at it now. She just needs us close by to keep an eye on her. Nathan would much rather be climbing up the steps so he is a bit more of a challenge to deal with.

The kids have knocked down another gate so we now have to make sure to keep the bathroom door closed. Luckily they are still a little too short to reach the doorknob but in a few more weeks I think we will need to either install the toilet guards or the door knob guards for safety.

Water Sprinkler

Well it was another hot one today. We put the Elephant sprinkler on the deck today and the kids had some fun.

I got the idea from someone else but I thought it would be cute to list some of the funny things that Mom and Dad say that we NEVER imagined would ever come out of our mouths....

  • Don't brush your hair with your toothbrush
  • Stop biting the cat
  • You can't walk with cups on your feet
  • Please stop sitting on top of your sister
  • We don't run on the couch
  • Stop sticking baby Jesus in your ball popper (it's from a toy nativity set)
  • Eggos don't go in the train, they go in your mouth
  • We don't play with the dog's pooper scooper

Finger Painting

This has been a pretty busy week. On Tuesday we took Nate and Reagan to a toddler gym called The Playzone about 15 minutes from our house. They got to run around, climb and play on foam mats. They had a lot of fun and we are thinking about getting a membership for the summer.

This week we have also started to teach the kids how to go down the steps. They have been climbing up for sometime now but this week they quickly got the hang of going down the steps too. Reagan has a slight lead in this department. She goes down on her bottom or as we call it "Boop-Boops" and she is REALLY good at it. Nate fluctuates between going down on his bottom and walking down like a big boy. He isn't quite as steady as Reagan so we really have to keep an eye on him.

We purchased a baby pool on Saturday and the kids got to use it that night and again today. As usual, Nate LOVED splashing like a wild man. We got an Elephant Sprinkler and Nate would stand right in front of the freezing cold water that was shooting out and open his mouth....What a goofball!!! We did all this in a bit of a rush so we didn't get any video or pictures but there will be plenty more days of summer heat so I'm sure that we will get some good shots.

Mommy and Daddy rearranged the kitchen this weekend and set up booster seats so that the kids can eat at the Big Table with us. They did great for lunch with Daddy but their 2nd meal ended up on the floor. I think it is just going to take some practice and getting used to eating without the highchair and trays.

Lastly we did some finger painting tonight on the kids new Picnic table. Reagan really seemed to like it but Nate (the typical boy) just kept eating it. I don't get it, food goes on the floor but sand, crayons and finger paint he eats???

Oh well, that's it for now!

This is how we Sleep

Mommy has been a bit more tired than usual since Daddy has been gone the past few weekends so she has been a bit lazy taking pictures for the blog. The two pics here are a bit blurry because Mommy took them while the kiddos were napping and she didn't want to wake them.

I just wanted to share with everyone what GOOD sleepers Nathan and Reagan have turned into. They go to bed around 7:30 every night and they each immediately lay down with their very own security item that they cuddle with.
Nathan has a cute little Bear Pillow that he sleeps on and Reagan has a yellow blankie with a Duck head on it. I wish that I had better pictures to show how adorable they look when they go to sleep.
