Rough Week being Sick

It has been a very rough week for all of us. Dad has been out of town on business pretty much all week so I have been doing my best to take care of the sick kiddos all by myself.

This latest case of the "sickies" started when Reagan got sick to her stomach last week. From there it went to a fever, runny nose, nasty cough and a few more sick tummies. Reagan now seems like she is finally starting to get better. Nathan is currently right smack in the middle of this illness and little Riley is just getting started.

It has been a very long week for mom with very little sleep. I called the pediatrician to see if they thought the kids needed to be seen but they agreed that it is probably just a bad cold. I'm sure that they are right but with the weekend coming up and everyone still feeling so awful, Mom may take the kids in to the doctor on Friday just to be on the safe side. Nathan has been coughing so much that his eyes water and he sometimes ends up getting a sick tummy. The constant coughing is waking him at night so I have been giving him some Children's Benadryl whenever he wakes up which on average is about every 4 hours. Riley hasn't been feeding well and she is majorly lacking in the sleep department and has been excessively fussy.

One of my friends stopped by today with some homemade chicken soup which was the sweetest thing ever. Somehow I have managed to avoid getting this virus and just have a bit of a sore throat thank goodness. Dad on the other hand doesn't sound so good and he is taking some over the counter cold medicine.

Right now I am praying that this virus goes away quickly. Dad will be here to help this weekend but I will be on my own again for 3 days next week while Dad goes out of town on business. I hate seeing the little ones suffer with colds but I also dislike having to go it alone when there are sick tummies and multiple children waking at night. Hopefully by Sunday most of the virus will have gone through their systems and things will be getting back to normal.
