Today was HAT DAY

Not sure what was going on, but everyone wanted to wear a hat today. My little stinker girl (aka Reagan) was playing with Riley while I was cutting up some cantaloupe in the kitchen. All was quiet and then suddenly I heard Reagan's evil laugh. I call it her evil laugh because when I hear it I know that she is either beating up on her brother, sister, the dog or the cat. So I run in the living room and I see poor Riley's entire head covered with a hat that is two sizes too big and she is desperately trying to wiggle around to get the hat off her head. So there sits Reagan giggling as if it was the funniest things she had ever saw. That is why Reagan is my little stinker.

Nathan was wearing one of Reagan's pretty girly hats, hopefully Dad won't see this picture.

Nathan's Beautiful Creations

About the time that Nathan turned two he started to line up similar objects. It just so happened that was also the time when we really started to suspect autism. We have learned from Nathan's therapists that we shouldn't take away these objects but instead redirect him to play with them in a more appropriate way. Of course I can't stop him from lining toys up so as I walk around the house I see neat little lines of this or that. I have come to appreciate the beauty of these formations along with the meticulous manner in which Nathan creates them. You will see him cocking his head to the side to get a perfect view and adjusting a toy ever so slightly so that it is exactly they way he wants it. I wish that I could be that dedicated to creating order.
