First Day of 3yr PreSchool

Wednesday was Nathan and Rae's first day back at school. This year they go for 2.5 hrs twice a week. I must say that I was really nervous about the kids going back to school but from what I heard they both did really well. They played with playdoh, celebrated their teacher's birthday (Nathan said "No Thank you" when offered a cupcake LOL!), colored Clifford the big red dog and stamped it with their very own hand print. We didn't realize that snack time includes drinking out of an open cup so we definitely need to practice that one at home.

Nathan's BSC went to school with him just to observe and help out where needed. She was also going to make a recommendation for him to have a few more wrap hours so that he could have a TSS at school with him. Surprisingly she doesn't think he will actually need a TSS at all!!! She could barely talk when I met up with her after class. She told me she was trying to hold back tears. She said Nathan didn't tantrum, didn't scream much, and he didn't crash. He followed the other kid's lead and just joined right in. He did some puzzles, listened to his teachers and went potty when told. He stimmed off throwing a ball up to the ceiling repeatedly but they had him roll the ball and then they ended up hiding it but still that's not bad at all. It was amazing news.

I was super nervous this year because the kids are required to be potty trained for school and we are still working on this at home. Both kids still have some accidents but Nathan has never gone poop on the potty so I am especially nervous about him. Fortunately he didn't have any accidents yet so we are crossing our fingers.

Speaking of potty training we got a wonderful surprise delivered today.....

FREE Pullups and LUVS Diapers!!!!!

The medical access card that Nathan has allows us to get up to 10 diapers or pullups a day totally free. I had forgotten all about this until just recently. For some reason I thought he needed to be 4 yrs old but the free products were actually available to us the day after his 3rd birthday. No matter, I am still very grateful to not have to pay for diapers and pullups anymore.

Riley insisted that she needed a backpack too so luckily we have a extra purple Dora backpack that she was able to wear. She got a bit upset when Nathan and Rae left for school without her but she was fine a few minutes later. John has already talked to the preschool about getting Riley enrolled in the 2 yr program after the new year. So we shall see what happens.

We went to Chuck E Cheese tonight. I managed to grab one quick photo in the dark building so this was all I got. I guess it's better than nothing.
