Kaycee is getting bigger!

I can't believe Kaycee is almost 2 months old! She is still a really good baby. She is starting to smile and she is doing really well with holding her head up. She saw the Orthopedic doctor this week and we are finally done with the hip dysplasia stuff. He confirmed that her hips are normal...YAY!!! So no more worries of needing a hip harness.

Monday was the twins LAST day of preschool. They had a PJ party and watched Veggie Tales. We are headed to the zoo with the preschool class tomorrow. It will be extremely hot so I am thinking of taking just the twins while the little kids stay home with dad. The zoo will be our chance to say goodbye to the wonderful teachers and all the kids. I am hoping we will still have some play dates with some of the preschool kids throughout the summer.

A Day in the Life

Kaycee wakes about every 4 hours for a bottle. On this night she was up at 2 am and we both were back to sleep around 3am

I woke up at 6am, let the dog out then and fed both the dog and cat.

I woke up John to feed Kaycee her morning bottle while I got showered.

Around 6:30 the other 3 kids woke up. John changes diapers and then feeds them breakfast.

I leave the house around 6:45 am for my 6 week postpartum check up with my doctor. I had just enough time to grab a pepsi for the road.

Got to my doctor just it time.

I get back home from the doctors and finish getting the kids dressed. At 8:45am I load them in the car and we head to Nathan's Occupational Therapy appointment.

The three girls and I relax in the waiting area while Nathan receives his therapy.

Reagan playing with one of the toys in the waiting room.

After therapy I load everyone back in the van and we head over to McDonalds Playland. We typically do this every Thursday as a reward when the girls are behaved in the waiting room.

The kids are waiting for their chicken nuggets and french fries while Kaycee takes a little snooze. On this particular day John was able to meet us for lunch since Nathan's TSS therapist had the day off. I am always thankful to have another set of hands when we do outings like this.

Once the kids have eaten lunch and they are tired from the playland tunnels and slides we head back home.

We watch some TV and the kids play some more. It is soon time for Riley to get her before nap bottle and the twins get their drinks.

Everyone heads up to bed and takes a nap around 1:30.

While everyone is fast asleep I get some laundry done and I end up taking a quick snooze on the sofa.

Between 3:30 and 4pm everyone wakes up and comes downstairs.

I happened to have a dentist appointment so Dad takes over kid duty while I headed out to have my pearly whites cleaned.

John already had the kids eating dinner when I got back from my dentist appointment.

I fixed myself a bowl of left over pot roast.

After dinner the kids wanted to play in the bounce house. We had it set up in our Florida Room because it had been raining so much the past few days.

After the bounce house we ended up playing in the backyard even though the ground was still pretty muddy.

Reagan convinced me to take the big kids for a quick ride around the neighborhood in the wagon while Dad stayed behind with baby Kaycee. I'm hoping that my baby weight will quickly fall off because it is darn hard to pull a wagon full of 85lbs of kids!

Time for baths which is always a bubble bath.

Daddy and I get the kids in their PJ's and the girls play with their doll babies

The kids brush their teeth

Read a story which is almost always either Dora or Diego and then it's time for bed at 8pm

Once all the kiddos are asleep, I make some triscuit pizza and chill out on the couch to watch Greys Anatomy. I try to make it to bed by 11:30 since I know tomorrow will be another busy day too.

Children's Museum

We spent Mother's Day at the Children's Museum. The big kids had a blast and baby Kaycee slept away in her stroller. I think we will have to go back again. When we got home Reagan told Daddy that she wanted to go back to the swimming pool (which I guess is the water play area) and Daddy told her that we went there for a special occasion and we don't have the money to go all the time. So our smart little cookie when to her Dora cash register and got some play money and said that she would pay for it.

I also think we need to invest in a wet suit for Nathan. He lasts all of 2 seconds before his lips turn blue and he starts shivering and shaking. The swim suits were definitely a great idea for the water area. I thought the kids would look a bit silly but I could hear most of the parents that we walked by saying "Oh what a smart idea".

I was really impressed with how great all of the kids did transitioning from one area to the next. Even little Riley did awesome. It amazes me that at just shy of 19 months Riley does great walking with us and really doesn't need a stroller much anymore. She is WAY different than the twins were at her age. I couldn't keep the twins walking with us for anything as toddlers. I remember them darting off all the time and refusing to hold hands. I hope Kaycee will be as easy as Riley is when it comes to walking with the group.

Family Portrait and Poor Kaycee!

Our family portrait arrived in the mail a few days ago. We got it done through our church. I didn't get the CD with digital pictures and copyrights so this is just a picture of a picture but you get the idea. Also noteworthy is what happened to poor baby Kaycee today. Dad took the twins to the grocery store so I brought Riley and Kaycee downstairs to the playroom with me (I put Kaycee on the carpet). I decided to go into the laundry room to get some clothes folded while we were down there. Suddenly Hunter came in and started to pee all over the tile floor in the laundry room. I quickly ran him upstairs and let him outside. Then I grabbed some towels and cleaned everything up on the tile and the carpet. It must have been 6 minutes later when I finally noticed that Kaycee's pants and socks were all wet....Yup the dog peed on her!!!
The poor girl was just laying there totally defenseless, I feel so bad!!!
